After a walk through our
community, many of our students were very curious about where animals go when
it gets cold. We decided to explore what happens to animals during the changes
of the seasons.
Hibernation
After reading about different
animals that hibernate, we made some art to depict where animals go to
hibernate. We used modelling clay and smeared it onto our artwork.
Migration
We learned that many different
animals move about during the changes of the seasons. We were really interested
in how birds migrate to warmer climate. We decided to react birds migrating by
doing some dramatic dance.
We then decided to make some puppets
for our dramatic play area that were of different animals that migrate. Here
are a few of them!
